Right of Withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. This applies to all our customers. See also our Return and Refund Policy.
The withdrawal period
The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you, acquires physical possession of the goods.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example, by email).
How to notify us
Send your withdrawal notice to:
Obsidian Codex Press AS
Email: info@theobsidiancodex.com
You may use the model withdrawal form below, though this is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired. We will confirm receipt of your notice by email without undue delay.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including the costs of standard delivery, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed of your decision to withdraw. If you chose a delivery method more expensive than our least expensive standard option, the difference is not refundable. We will carry out the refund using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is the earliest.
Returning the goods
You must send back the goods without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods back before the period of 14 days has expired.
The return address will be provided in the return instructions. As standard, returns are sent to our office in Norway. In some cases we may direct your return to one of our fulfillment centers in the US or Europe instead. For returns sent from outside Norway, mark the customs declaration as "Returned goods" so the parcel is not treated as a new purchase.
You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. We strongly recommend a tracked and insured shipping service appropriate to the value of the item.
You may inspect the goods to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics, and functioning, as you would in a bookshop. You are responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond this. Our books are collectible fine editions and their value depends heavily on condition. Reading the book, creasing the spine or pages, marks, stains, or damage to the slipcase or enclosure will reduce your refund accordingly.
Each book is shipped in a custom presentation box made for its series. The box is an integral part of the edition, not disposable packaging. Please return the book in this box, undamaged. A missing or damaged presentation box reduces the value of the edition, and the refund will be reduced accordingly.

Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised.
Our Binder's Editions are hand-bound and made to order. Binding begins after purchase and follows the specifications chosen by you. The right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to Binder's Editions, unless we have clearly stated otherwise in writing. The same applies to any other item produced to your individual specification or personalised at your request.
Where an item is exempt from the right of withdrawal, this is stated on the product page before purchase. Exempt items remain fully covered in the case of defective, damaged, or incorrect deliveries.
