About the press
Obsidian Codex Press is a small independent publisher based in Oslo, Norway. We make carefully produced editions of classic and esoteric literature.
Our volumes are Smyth-sewn on acid-free paper, bound to open flat. We say plainly what each edition is, including where modern tools assisted the work, and we photograph the books as they are, with production samples labelled as such.
The editions
Most works appear as a Codex, the reading edition, and, while the limitation lasts, an Artefact: numbered, cased and made once. Some projects take other forms, from letterpress to facsimile.
How projects run
New titles begin as Kickstarter campaigns; backers receive their copies first, and remaining stock reaches the shop afterwards. Every project's progress is posted on our production updates page.
Shipping & returns
Orders ship tracked from our US and EU warehouses in 5 to 14 business days, tax included. Unopened items may be returned within 14 days. Full detail on the support page.
